This is true to a large extent of the gardener, also. Much of the hottest part of the summer has passed, and only a few more days of extreme temperatures will remain to sear the garden flowers. Actually, plants undergo a physiological change and begin a resurge of growth for fall bloom. Many annuals or seasonal color plants have made their co

5 Stars Kneeler
I find this kneeler perfect for gardening especially if you have a bad back. I put all my pressure on the handles to pull my self up. Therefore I feel no pain in my back, legs or knees.

I love it.

I thought my gardening days were over because after kneeling on the dirt I could not get up. (Just like the commercial). Now I can.

It works! It fills my need in the garden. The price is right, it’s comfortable, it’s sturdy and simple to use.

5 Stars garden stool
Wonderful. We have found many other used for the bench. Great for painting along mop boards. It is portable and can be carried anywhere. Even to clean the kitchen floor.

5 Stars Great for the ‘mature’ gardener!
We purchased this for my 90 year young uncle, who still gardens and tends his flower beds. It’s great for those of us who can still get down, but have difficulty ‘getting up’. The Kneeler is sturdy, safe, and light-weight, and is perfect for us ‘mature’ gardeners. The smooth metal ‘handles’ are at the right ergonomic height for the arms to help lift the body back to a standing position without falling over on your nose. The seat is just right for resting from a morning’s planting or weed-pulling. Highly recommended.

5 Stars Wonderful easy-to-follow pruning guide for gardeners of every level.
From novice to master…gardeners everywhere will benefit from Hugh’s common sense teaching video. It’s the perfect aide for homeowners and professionals alike.

As a landscape designer, I want to educate my clients on the value of proper pruning, but this can take hours! What better tool to have on hand? I can’t think of one. Too often I have visited beautifully designed landscapes that were reduced to mediocrity through the lack of basic pruning skills.

Learn to extend the lifetime and beauty of your landscape. Hugh’s friendly, down-to-earth guidelines really do make it as easy as ABC!

5 Stars Fantastic-Easy to follow-Narrated with Whit,Style and Education

Great tool for foreman and workers in the Green industry.

5 Stars A must have !!!!!
This DVD was inspiring and compelling: exceeded my expectations!! I began to prune my own shrubs (for the first time) after watching this DVD.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars A very good guide.
I found this book to be a very good guide on the selection of plants to use in our landscaping improvements. I am not much a plant selection person and this book has helped in making some good choices.

5 Stars Great book for Midwest gardeners!
This book is great! It was just what I needed. It has detailed, creative, and artistic landscaping plans plus helpful planting and design information! I bought two copies of this book so I can give my daughter one!

5 Stars Very nice book, helpful and useful, but be forewarned.
It is very very similar to the 1999 edition which I already owned. In my opinion, there is no reason to own both, or to replace the old one with the new one.

5 Stars Excellent book
I’m not a gardener but then again I have never had a house to HAVE a garden. We are moving onto a brand new house and I found this book by accident.

It is outstanding.

It will give you ideas on what to plant in the shade, sun part sun and what I like most are the diagrams. I have no eye for what a garden will look like in 2 months and how I should plant a garden that looks lush and well thought out. I would have planted a garden with random flowers spaced too far apart.

Perfect book for somebody that wants a garden that looks like they knew what they were doing.

5 Stars A first-rate, comprehensive resource for homeowners of all background, regardless of past experience in gardening or landscaping

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Good for me
This book is very useful for a beginner house plant gardener who loves orchids. Has enough information for me to get started and not be fearful. Have looked up and found all answers to all questions confronting me at this stage.

4 Stars A Great Beginners Book
Ifyou are looking for a comprehensive beginner’s guide to orchids at a reasonable price this is it. The book is well organized, easy to understand, and decently illustrated. Photos and quality may not be of the best quality, but you can find those in one of the many other pictorial guides to orchids available. If you want to get growing, this book is a great start.

5 Stars Excellent
This is a truly excellent starter and it’s great for the medium level amatuer, too. There is a lot of information, yet it’s not succint. The quality of the pictures is not satisfactory, however, this is one of the very few books which show overall plants, as opposed to show macro of flowers only. This is not a minor point: when I placed my first order online, I decided I was not going to buy dendrobium, because I don’t like the plant. While this reflect my personal taste, knowng how the overall plants look like was a major plus. Moreover this book teaches how to measure the light intensity by simply using the lightmeter of your TTL camera. To me this information alone is worth the price of admission.

3 Stars General Info
I found this book a little too general..and actually did not answer my pending questions about the cattleyas…still some valued info of a general nature about other varieties warrants by keeping it.It is good for identifying species and family.

4 Stars A Good Beginners Book
If you are just starting out with orchids, this is a great, low cost, book for basic information and great for a quick reminder to the experienced grower when obtaining new orchids. I would not say this is the last book you will ever need if serious about growing orchids, but it a good place to start!
